• EU approves airport funding- European Commission (EU) has approved an additional £24 million of funding to help redevelop Newquay Airport.(3 July 2009)
• The land that's worth a fortune- The owners of land in Looe which developers are fighting to get their hands on say it isn't for sale at the moment, despite being offered millions of pounds for it.(26 June 2009)
• Port of Falmouth Development Initiative - looking to the future- South West RDA (Regional Development Agency) last week, confirmed that it is not in a position to provide funding for the Falmouth dredging and cruise project(18 June 2009)
• Gwithian beach is up for sale- 76 acres of Gwithian beach in Cornwall will be sold by Colliers CRE at its Portman Square auction house in July.(17 June 2009)
• 44,800 families found claiming tax credits here- Cornwall has the highest number of families in the South West claiming child and working tax credits according to new figures.(16 June 2009)
• Battery Rocks beach saved!- The Friends of Penzance Harbour have welcomed the news an application to build a new boat passenger terminal on reclaimed land in Penzance Harbour has been withdrawn(12 June 2009)
• New lease of life for Woolworths shop,- Former Helston Woolworths site will be reopened as The Original Factory Shop.(12 June 2009)
• Complex 'will go ahead as planned',, - Plans for an apartment complex in Newquay will go ahead - despite a company applying to turn the land into a temporary car park.(9 June 2009)
• 'Prison block' flat plans are rejected by council,- Residents of Basset Road, Camborne have won their fight to stop a 'prison' block of flats being built in one of the town's prime residential areas.(27 May 2009)

COMMUNITY GROUP FOCUS- TRELAWNEY ALLIANCE
The public meeting held on Friday 1st May in Camborne was attended by about 60 people. There was a guest speaker, Councillor Carlyon, from Truro who spoke of the need for groups of objectors to 'combine forces' and emphasised that the mass build issue would affect the whole of Cornwall.
